Little Performers Ages 4-6 | THURSDAYS
Little Performers
Preschool Theater Classes in Clayton, NC
Where little imaginations take center stage.
Little Performers is a joyful introduction to theater for preschool-aged children in Clayton and Johnston County, NC. Designed especially for young children and first-time performers, this class uses dramatic play, music, movement, storytelling, theater games, and creativity to help children discover the joy of performing.
At Pavilion Plays, we believe theater should be a place where children can be themselves, try something new, and discover what they can do. Little Performers provides a warm, encouraging, low-pressure environment where children can build confidence, practice social skills, express their creativity, and become comfortable in front of others—all while having a LOT of fun.
What Do Little Performers Do?
Every class is an opportunity to play, imagine, create, and perform.
Activities may include:
🎭 Dramatic play and pretend adventures
🎶 Music and movement
⭐ Simple theater games
🎨 Crafts and hands-on creative activities
📚 Storybook-inspired scenes
🎬 Character and storytelling activities
🌟 Gentle performance experiences
Some days we might become explorers. Other days we might tell a story, create characters, play a theater game, dance, sing, or build something together.
There is no need to have theater experience. Little Performers is designed for children who are discovering theater for the very first time.
Whether your child is shy and needs a little encouragement, bursting with energy and imagination, or simply loves pretending and making up stories, there is a place for them at Pavilion Plays.
More Than Rehearsing a Show
What makes Little Performers different?
Little Performers learn theater by playing theater.
Children explore acting, movement, music, storytelling, character, listening, taking turns, and stage confidence throughout the semester. As they develop new skills, they work together to create a special showcase piece they can share with their families at the end of the session.
This means the final performance grows naturally out of the children's experiences in class.
The focus isn't on perfection. The focus is on growth.
Our creative approach gives young performers room to experiment, make choices, laugh, try again, and express themselves. Children get to experience the excitement of performing without the pressure that can come with a traditional children's production.
By the time showcase week arrives, they'll have created something together—and they'll know they helped make it happen.
Building Confidence Through Theater
Theater gives young children opportunities to practice skills that reach far beyond the stage.
Through play and performance, Little Performers practice:
Confidence
Trying something new and discovering, “I can do that!”
Creativity
Using imagination to create characters, stories, movement, and ideas.
Communication
Learning to use their voices, bodies, expressions, and storytelling skills.
Social Skills
Listening, taking turns, cooperating, and creating alongside other children.
Stage Comfort
Becoming comfortable being seen, heard, and celebrated.
Most importantly, children learn that their ideas matter.
A First Step Into the World of Theater
Little Performers is perfect for children who love to pretend, tell stories, sing, move, create, or simply explore.
It's also a wonderful first theater experience for children who aren't quite ready for the demands of a full children's production.
At Pavilion Plays, we want young performers to leave class thinking:
“That was fun! Can we do it again?”
Because that's where a love of theater begins.
